Allison Petryk

Allison was born and raised in northern New Jersey. She received a degree in Environmental Studies from Ramapo College with minors in Public Policy and Anthropology. During college, she was the President of her college’s environmental club where she helped raise awareness and secure long term sustainability under the President’s Climate Commitment. After graduating, she fell in love with teaching both children and adults about the natural world around them and empowering with ways to make a difference. Allison’s passion in protecting water resources stems from her volunteer experience with AmeriCorp’s New Jersey Watershed Ambassador Program where she provided educational outreach, led stream monitoring trainings, and organized stewardship projects to protect local watersheds.  In 2013, she was heavily involved in trying to stop the Tennessee Gas Pipeline from clear-cutting forests in both New Jersey and the Delaware State Forest. Coming from a rural area herself, Allison is committed to preserving natural areas and protecting water resources for present and future generations. She can be reached at allison@energyjustice.net
